NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, February 27, 2024 \/EINPresswire.com<\/a>\/ — Brenda Braxton, a native New Yorker who has found tremendous success on Broadway<\/a> will be joining\u00a0the Guest Faculty this summer\u00a0at\u00a0 the Broadway Theatre<\/a> Project in Tampa, Florida.Brenda was nominated for a Tony\u00a0Award for her starring role in\u00a0Smokey\u00a0Joe’s Cafe\u00a0and has received the NAACP Theatre Award, Chicago’s Jefferson Award and a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album. She was last seen as Matron Mamma Morton and Velma Kelly in the Broadway hit\u00a0Chicago The Musical\u00a0sharing the stage with Usher, Bebe Neuwirth, Rita Wilson, Brian McKnight and Lisa Rinna. Other Broadway credits include Jelly’s Last Jam, Cats, Legs Diamond and the original production of Dreamgirls.\u00a0<\/p>\n In realizing the importance of giving back, Ms. Braxton founded a not-for-profit organization called “Leading LadiesJust For Teens” (LLJFT), seminars geared toward empowering young girls to be the best they can be.
